Since its establishment in 2009, the restaurant has been renowned in New York for its classic Sichuan cuisine style, embodying the principle of “a hundred dishes, a hundred flavors; a single dish, a single style.”

The restaurant’s original location was on 36th Street in Midtown Manhattan. It first earned a Michelin star in 2011 and held the distinction for three consecutive years. It was also featured on the CCTV Chinese International Channel’s [Global Chinese] segment “A Story for Every Taste in America.” The China Press (Qiaobao) has published multiple articles praising it as “the jewel in the crown of Manhattan’s culinary scene.”

“Now, Cao Tang Sichuan Cuisine returns, reopening at its new official location on the Upper East Side at 242 E 79th St. After months of meticulous craftsmanship, the new establishment is poised for its grand opening. We have specially invited Mr. Zeng Daiquan, a celebrated Sichuan master chef from the Michelin-starred restaurant Song Yun Ze in Chengdu (the world’s capital of gastronomy), to join the team. He will meticulously present dozens of exquisite Sichuan dishes, bringing authentic Sichuan flavors to New York diners.”
